Studies have shown that students that participate in sports benefit from healthy self-esteem, increased problem-solving skills, and academic achievement. In
addition to these social and emotional benefits, sports can also bring about intangible benefits to the school and the community.
Lake Forest Charter teams are open to grades 5th through 8th including Basketball, Flag Football, Volleyball, Boys Baseball, Girls Softball, Cross-Country, and Cheerleading
Athletic Teams
The goal of the Lake Forest Charter Band is to prepare each band member to become proficient on the student’s instrument of choice. Members are prepared to be competitive and successful in many musical endeavors through their participation in several musical forums.
Band
The game of chess has a history that goes back many years, centuries even! Experts attribute playing chess with improved visual memory, attention span, and critical thinking. The series of decisions made in each move helps children learn to plan, evaluate alternatives, and use logic to make sound choices.
This club is open to students in grades 2nd through 8th. There is a 16 member limit on a first come first serve basis.
Chess Club
The LFC dance team promotes school spirit by performing at all school and community events. To join students must be in at least 4th grade, maintain a minimum 2.5 gpa, exhibit positive behavior, and attend all rehearsals.Tryouts are held at the end of the school year.
Dance Team
Members learn the ins and outs of theater production. Students are taught acting, script writing, play production, and stage management. Those that perform in school productions are a part of the cast and those responsible for set design, costumes, make-up, stage management, and all other technical work are a part of the stage crew. Members are able to participate in either or both aspects which allow them to experience a variety of activities. Open students in grades 5th through 8th.
Drama Club
Students are introduced to the basic building blocks, Elements of Art and Principles of Design, in Kindergarten. Students then delve in art history and art critiques before advancing to color theory, basic drawing techniques, painting, sculpture, papier mache’, and pottery. LFC's Visual Arts program is designed for artists of all ages.
Eagle Art Club
LFC's standout students in grades 5-8 unite in the Eagles with Etiquette Club, enhancing interpersonal skills with lessons on social graces, confidence, and anti-bullying.
Application, an honor pledge, and active meeting participation are prerequisites. Participants, recognized in the school newsletter and year-end assembly, serve as welcoming escorts and benefit from elevated self-esteem.

We're a dynamic group of emerging leaders at our school, dedicated to Beta's core pillars: achievement, character, leadership, and service.
To join, students need a quarterly GPA of 3.7 or above in core classes, less than 10 absences, and must embody a commendable attitude, upright character, and positive mentality. Achievements and faculty recommendations are essential for membership in the Lake Forest Charter School's National Junior Beta Club chapter.

The String & Orchestra Ensemble provides advanced students with a platform to master group performance, focusing on musicality and ensemble skills across a diverse range of string orchestra repertoires. Members actively cultivate proper rehearsal techniques. Biannually, students showcase their achievements, performing for an audience of parents and friends, enhancing their experience and musical journey.

The Outspoken Debate Team empowers students in grades 6 through 8 to become confident and articulate speakers by honing their ability to research, craft, and present arguments on issues that impact the local community, state, and nation. Participants develop a broad set of skills, including public speaking, organization, and professionalism, while also mastering media and argument literacy. They gain expertise in evaluating evidence, conducting thorough research, and improving reading comprehension. Team members also learn to summarize and outline effectively, manage debate floors with civility, and work collaboratively, all while fostering empathy for different perspectives. This enriching experience helps students grow both intellectually and socially, preparing them for future academic and civic challenges.
Outspoken Debate Team
The Perfect Score Club welcomes students who have achieved the remarkable feat of scoring perfectly on the LEAP Assessments (Louisiana Educational Assessment Program) for a specific academic school year. It's a celebration of academic mastery, commitment to excellence, and a showcase of the outstanding capabilities of our students.

The Student Council encourages the voice of the student body. Members promote school spirit, a harmony between students and faculty, and demonstrate great citizenship in school and around the community. To be eligible to run in the Student Council election, students must have a 2.75 GPA or higher throughout the school year. All Student Council meetings and projects are student-led.
