Our Mission

Lake Forest Charter School’s mission is to provide a nurturing environment, which facilitates maximum student achievement through a rigorous, accelerated academic program incorporating visual, cultural and creative arts, which will ultimately enhance each student’s ability to become a global, contributing citizen.

Our History

Lake Forest is known as the Beacon of New Orleans East and has been instrumental in the rebuilding of our community. Lake Forest Elementary Charter School’s focal point is high student achievement, by offering a program that includes research-based curriculum and data driven instruction. With consistent, instructional monitoring and management by all Eagle Leaders, we expect to inspire a love and respect for learning at a high level. There is accountability at all levels, individual as well as organizational. Our mascot – the bald Eagle – is more than just a symbol to our staff, student body, and parents. We like to refer to our domain as the “Eagle’s Nest,” which provides a familial and safe haven. Eagles always soar alone and never give up. Through our guidance, nurturing, hard work,and determination of our Eagle Leaders, we desire to instill all the attributes for our students to become global, productive citizens. LFC is recognized as a 5 star school in the state of Louisiana.

Lake Forest Elementary Charter School has been a recipient of many honors and awards. Most notable are:

• Lake Forest Elementary Charter received state recognition from LSU AgCenter as a “2010 Louisiana School of Character,” for our commitment to implementing a quality character education initiative and helping develop good character.

• Lake Forest Elementary Charter was selected as a 2009 National Title I Distinguished School for “Exceptional Student Performance for Consecutive Years.” The program honors schools across the country for their innovation in helping Title I populations achieve high student achievement.
